I don’t get it. The reason I, and a lot of my friends, love Sci Fi is when the author tries to feed me a line of bullshit and I can spot it for what it is. IT IS FUN. Ever laughed at a medical TV show diagnostic? It is the same thing.
As for Charles, maybe the issue at hand here is integrity, but if *I* was making a living writing Sci Fi, I would try to not piss off my biggest demographic.
Imagine that this was a horror writer that specializes in vampire novels, and he goes out and says “you know what? I hate Bram Stoker, I hate the Lestat vampires, and even the Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse crowds. They all suck!”
There, you just pissed off everyone that you could possibly hope to buy your books, dumbass.
