Puerto Rico lawmakers OK strict drunk driving law →
This is political hypocrisy at its worst. Puerto Rico’s drinking age is 18 instead of 21. Do you know why? Legend has it that there’s federal highway money tied to the 21-year drinking limit. If you don’t set drinking age to at least 21, your state misses out of these highway funds. When it was Puerto Rico’s turn, they compared the loss of highway funds against the loss...

Happy 'costume' day →
ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME? What the hell is wrong with people? Can’t they leave the kids alone to have some fun without pissing all over it in the spirit of political correctness? Earlier today I read about a gentleman that protested because a Halloween display looked a bit too much like a lynching. He was right, that’s the kind of obvious thing that pretty much everyone notices and...

Fallout 3 crowned 'game of year' →
Well deserved too, that game easily got me more than 100 hours of entertainment, great bang for the buck for a $60 investment. And Call of Duty was awesome too, so awesome that even *I* played it online (everyone that knows me is well aware that I am not a fan of multi player gaming).

Amazon Expands Kindle To the PC →
I am so happy right now I can burst. Six months ago people were looking at eBook readers as a fashion item that was only really useful to those few of us that match the description of “Degenerate reading addict” and useless to pretty much everyone else. Now things are heating up really fast. Walmart really lit a fire under everybody’s ass with their price change for hardcover...

Game Retailers Facing Digital Distribution... →
I don’t understand what’s the big deal, it is not as if somebody sprung this surprise on them over the past week: 1. It already happened to music retailers. Between Apple and Amazon they made sure that the CD is on a death watch. 2. It is happening right now to books. The Kindle has been out for over a year, Sony’s product line is maturing and now Barnes & Noble has their...

Amazon Dumps Sprint for Kindle 2, Embraces AT&T →
I don’t see why this is a good thing, AT&T 3G coverage here is horrible. The good news is that this switch only affects new devices, if you already had your Kindle 2 when the switch started, you are still on Sprint and Amazon has no plans to change these anytime soon. I just checked mine and it almost got all bars, while my iPhone 3G in that spot was lucky to get two bars.

Brain reorganizes to make room for math! →
karlaakins: proofmathisbeautiful: Between childhood and adulthood, neural map of the brain rearranges to conceptualize arithmetic. It takes years for children to master the ins and outs of arithmetic. New research indicates that this learning process triggers a large-scale reorganization of brain processes involved in understanding written symbols for various quantities. Is this why my...

Mac fanboys should get a life and some Windows 7... →
Good article, shitty headline. The article drives a very interesting point: almost every time that Microsoft takes a dive and Apple gains, it is assumed that the dive caused the gain. Instead we should be looking at what Apple did that week to cause the gain. For example, a bad week for Windows just happened to be at the same time that Apple was releasing new hardware. Here’s the real...
